of the month
" Laughter is like changing a baby's diaper. It doesn't
permanently solve any problems, but it makes things more acceptable
for a while."
A
man observed a woman in the grocery store with a three year
old girl in her trolley. As they passed the chocolate shelves,
the little girl asked for a chocolate and the mother said
no. The little girl began to whine and fuss and the mother
said quietly, " Now Monica, we just have half the shopping
left so don't be upset. It won't take long now."
Soon they came to the cookies and the girl began to cry for
the cookies. Again the mother said gently " there, there
Monica, don't cry - only two more things to buy and then we
can go home."
When
they reached the check out stand, the little girl began to
cry for toffees and threw a big tantrum upon being refused.
The mother patiently said, " Monica, we'll be through this
check out soon and you can go home and have a nice nap" The
man followed them out to the parking lot and stopped the mother
to compliment her. " I couldn't help notice how patient you
were with little Monica" he began. Whereupon the mother said
" I'm Monica - and this is my daughter Sonia!"
