Lentil Soup recipe |
½
tbsp ghee
1 tbsp rice
2 tbsp arhar/toor dal
½ carrot (chopped)
½onion (chopped)
1 cup water
1 tbsp tomato sauce (optional)
½ cup milk
salt to taste

In
a pressure cooker heat oil. |

Add
carrot and onion. Sauté for 5 minutes or until tender.

Add
the rest of the ingredients, except milk. Stir well. |

Bring
to a boil. Pressure cook until lentils are tender. |

In
a mixer blend the lentil mixture until smooth. |

Heat
the puree. Stir in milk. Cook over low heat until thoroughly
heated. |
This
is a complete meal for the baby.
| Spinach-and-Cucumber
Soup recipe |
½
tbsp butter
¼ cup chopped cucumber
¼ cup chopped spinach
1/8 cup cream
1/8 cup yoghurt
salt to taste

Melt
butter over medium heat. Add cucumber; sauté for 10 minutes
or until lightly browned. |

Add
stock; bring to a boil. |
| 3. |
Cover,
reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes. |
| 4. |
Add
spinach and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer
for 2 minutes. |
| 5. |
Blend
this mixture in a mixer until smooth. |
| 6. |
Add
yoghurt, cream and salt. Serve at room temperature. |
Spinach
is a valuable source of high-grade iron.
