Sprout Apple Burger recipe - (Makes
6) |

small burger buns
butter to spread on the buns
2 cubes cheese (grated)
1 apple (cut into round slices)
juice of ½ lemon
Cutlet
2 boiled potatoes (mashed or grated)
½ cup moong sprouts
1 tbsp butter
1 onion - finely chopped
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tsp salt, or to taste
¼ tsp amchoor, ½ tsp roasted cumin powder, ½
tsp garam masala
1 slice of bread (dipped in water and squeezed well)

Wash
moong sprouts and pressure cook with ¼ cup of water and
¼ tsp of salt till one whistle. Remove from fire and
keep aside. |

Heat
1 tbsp butter and fry onions till light pink. |

Add
the steamed sprouts and stir fry for a minute. Remove from fire. |
| 4.

Add
the potatoes, tomato ketchup, cheese, cumin power, garam masala,
amchoor and salt. Mix well. |

Make
small cutlets, according to the size of the buns. |

Fry
the cutlets in some oil and keep aside. |

Cut
the buns into half. Spread butter generously on both pieces
and press on a hot tawa to make them light brown. |

Put
a cutlet on the bun. |

Cut
an apple into round slices and sprinkle some lemon juice on
them. Put a round slice of apple on the bun. |
| Tip
- You may microwave the sprouts instead of using the pressure
cooker. Put them in a plastic bag along with a little
water and microwave for 2 minutes. |

Lollipops - (Makes
8) |

ice cream sticks or wooden spoons
½ cup kala channa -
2 potatoes (boiled and mashed)
2 slices of bread (crumbled)
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tsp salt
½ tsp garam masala
½ tsp red chilli powder
¼ tsp amchoor

Soaked
the channas. Pressure cook channas till soft. If there is any
water left, cook on fire till almost dry. |

Remove
from fire and cool. Grind the channas to a paste. |

Mix
potatoes, bread, ketchup, salt, garam masala, red chilli powder
and amchoor. |

Make
balls and insert a stick in each. |

Flatten
the ball on the stick. |
| 6.

Shallow
fry in hot oil till golden. |
| Tip
- Use brown bread in this recipe. Brown bread is more
nutritious. For soaking the channas use just enough water
for soaking and boiling. This ensures that nutrients are
not lost. Fry one at a time so that the lollipops don't
break. |
